PRODUCT INTRODUCTION
DMEM powder medium or Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle’s Medium is a standard medium, which supports the growth of various mammalian cells. It can be used to cultivate primary fibroblasts, neurons, glial cells, HUVECs, and smooth muscle cells, as well as cell lines such as HeLa, HEK 293, Cos-7, and PC-12.
DMEM comes in various formulations, where the composition of components may differ. The original formulation of DMEM contains 1.0 g/L. This product - DMEM High Glucose - has an increased glucose content of 4.5 g/L, is supplemented with L-glutamine and comes without Sodium Bicarbonate (NaHCO3).
Powder media can be reconstituted to provide basic nutrients for all cell culture applications.
